The OHM Group came into existence in 1972 when it began distributing DAF Trucks and cars. In 1994 OHM Group took over the distribution of MAN commercial vehicles. As both brands are in direct competition with each other, the Group ensures both companies are run by separate management teams and at independent locations. As the distributor of two of the world’s leading truck brands, OHM Group has grown to become one of the dominant players in the Irish truck market, representing a combined market share of approximately 25%.
Since 1976 OHM Group has supplied DAF engines and DAF Bus chassis to a variety of bus and coach Manufacturers such as Plaxton, Alexander Dennis and Van Hool. Since 1998, the Group has also delivered complete bus units with bodies built by a number of major European bodybuilders such as OVI , Ayats, Marcopolo and Berkhof . Currently the Bus Division distributes VDL Buses and Coaches as well as MAN buses, under the Neoplan brand. Some of the Group’s bus and coach customers include Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann Bartons Coaches, Mathews Coaches, Dualway Coaches, Mortons Coaches and the Irish Defence Forces and many others.
